Tank destruction badge blackened - gold class

TANK DESTRUCTION GOLD LEVEL

  The decoration established on March 9, 1942 by Adolf Hitler and to reward the soldiers who alone had destroyed or put out of action by means of explosives on hand a tank or an armored combat vehicle, with the progress of the war and the increase of the deeds worthy of its award it was necessary to introduce, on 18 December 18 1943, a gold class of the badge. This was worth and replaced five of the silver class.

 The version reproduced is the darkened model to make it less visible to have a better occult on an already showy decoration.

Criteria for award: 

• allowed the weapon with which the vehicle had to be destroyed were: a hand grenade, a grenade or rocket to the Panzefaust, a charge contained in a bag, magnetic grenades or any other type of explosive to handle by hand.
