Italian WW2 Surface assault pilot boat badge Social Republic

SURFACE ASSAULT PILOT BOAT RSI

Reproduction of the badge awarded in recognition of the achievement of the surface assault pilot license of the Republican National Navy and issued at the end of the course at the new school "Gruppo Salvatore Todaro". Transferred on the lake Lago Maggiore, near Sesto Calende, in October 1943 from its previous location in La Spezia, the first course patented the first conductors on March 22, 1944, followed by three other courses, including members of the Kriegsmarine. The patent was commissioned to the Stefano Johnson factories in Milan and depicts a narwhal surrounding a republican gladius with "ITALIA" engraved on the guard and at the bottom a cartouche embossed with "PILOT MEZZI D'ASSALTO DI SUPERFICIE", with the golden sword and the silvered rest. It was awarded to both Italian and German participants and putted on left pocket.
