German WW2 tropical Helmet second pattern - Tropenhelm

HEER TROPENHELM

 Reproduction of the tropical helmet supplied to the Wehrmacht in the version of the second pattern with the Heer badge. The tropical helmet was introduced with the first model in 1941 when the Afrikakorps, the expeditionary force in reinforcement of the Italian forces in North Africa, was equipped. The helmet will not be an equipment much appreciated by the German troops but it will still be distributed to all the units operating in the Mediterranean area and therefore in Italy where it is very often visible in the photos of the troops present. The second model followed, a much cheaper and simplified version and distributed starting from 1942 even if it was distributed too late to be used in Africa.
