German WW2 M40 field grey wool greatcoat

MANTEL M40

 Largely identical to the M35 coat, the 1940 model lacks primarily for the removal of the cloth collar in dark blue-green.  Coat is in a double chest of wool cloth feldgrau. The front has two rows of six uniform buttons. On both side it's open a  oblique cut pocket with rounded flap. The sleeves end with a cuff. On the back is a martingale adjustable with two buttons and two loops. The coat have on the back, from the waist to down, a central vent can be closed by four buttons, or open for a more liberty of movement. The neck is closed with a metal hook and a metal eyelet. The bottom of the neck have on the left a tongue of cloth set with two buttons, it can be buttoned to a corresponding button on the right place. The coat lining is cotton and the inside cover from the waist to up, as well as the sleeves; the lining has an inside pocket on left chest. On both sides there is an opening for the passage of hooks support belt.

Material: 70% wool 30% viscose.
