EGG TYPE GRENADE

 Inert reproduction of the German hand grenade made by molding and painted in gray or sand with transport ring or without in late war models. The Eihandgranades were handed over to the Fallschirmjäger from the beginning until the end of the war. The primer before the launch was by unscrewing the dome-shaped hood and then pulled by being connected to a spiral lanyard. The color of the cap indicated the burning time of the mounted fuze. Typically a delay of about 4 seconds was used.

 It was often used as a stationary booby trap, mounting an instant or 1 second trigger and left in plain sight for enemy use. They were used in France as part of Erwin Rommel's asparagus, the obstacles used to prevent glider landings. Another type of trap involved attaching a short fuse grenade to a door frame in an abandoned building with the lanyard attached to the door. When the door was smashed the grenade exploded right next to the victim.
